I didn't plan for this live to be anything special. I just wanted to prepare an order, show the process, and connect with whoever showed up. But sometimes the unplanned ones end up being the best ones.
This was my best TikTok live so far — the most viewers, the most interactions, and honestly one of the most enjoyable hours I've spent building CityEvoke. Here's how it went.
It Started With One Order
The plan going in was simple: prepare one order live. The customer had purchased the Neon Dreams: Opposite T-Shirt, and I was going to walk through the whole packing process on camera — the tissue, the packaging, the care that goes into every order that leaves CityEvoke.
It was hot. Not ideal conditions for a live, but that's exactly what made it feel real. No studio setup, no perfect lighting — just me, the orders, and whoever was watching.
Someone Stayed the Whole Time
Not long into the live, someone joined and didn't leave. They were interacting the whole time — asking questions, responding, keeping the energy up. That kind of engagement changes the whole feel of a live. It stops being a broadcast and starts being a conversation.
By the end of it, they bought The Bloom Never Begs T-Shirt — one of the most talked-about pieces in the collection. So what started as a one-order live turned into two. I packed both on camera and showed the full process from start to finish.
The person who bought during the live? Actually a friend of mine. And after the live ended, I personally delivered the tee to them the same day. That's the kind of thing that doesn't happen with big brands — and it's exactly the kind of thing I want CityEvoke to be known for.
New Designs Got a First Look
During the live I also showed two new designs I'm currently working on. I wasn't sure how people would respond — they're still in progress — but the feedback was genuinely positive. It felt good to share something unfinished and have people connect with it before it's even done.
That's what the live format does. It lets people into the process, not just the product. And for a brand built on original hand-illustrated artwork — every character drawn on iPad using Procreate — that process is worth showing.
Someone Asked About New Zealand
One question that came up during the live: does CityEvoke ship to New Zealand?
Right now, I ship Australia-wide only. But international shipping — including New Zealand — is something I'm planning to open up in the future. If you're outside Australia and want to be the first to know when that changes, follow along on TikTok and keep an eye on the blog.
Getting Closer to 1K
Every live brings CityEvoke closer to 1,000 followers on TikTok. It's a milestone, but more than the number, what matters is that the community showing up is genuinely engaged. People who ask questions, who stay for the whole live, who buy because they actually connect with the brand — that's the kind of growth that means something.

What's Coming Next
The next step I'm excited about: going live while actually designing. Watching a tee go from a blank canvas to a finished character in real time — that's something I haven't done yet, and I think the community is going to love it.
If you want to catch it when it happens, follow @cityevoke on TikTok and turn on notifications. I go live every week, and every one is different.
