Why I’m Creating Oversized Anime-Inspired T-Shirts in Australia

I’ve always felt like anime was more than just a show or an art style — it’s a whole movement. For me, it connects cities, creativity, and identity. That’s why I started building CityEvoke (City Evoke): a streetwear brand where I can turn my drawings into something you can wear.

Right now, I’m in pre-launch. That means everything I’m creating — from designs to fabric choices — is being prepared for the first official drop.

Why I Chose Anime Streetwear in Australia

When I searched for anime streetwear brands in Australia, I realised there wasn’t much out there that truly combined anime with the oversized, boxy streetwear style I like wearing. I wanted something that felt real, bold, and connected to the city.

That’s when I decided to build it myself. CityEvoke (City Evoke) is my way of filling that gap — starting right here in Sydney.

My Approach: Hand-Drawn, Original, and Nowhere Else

Every single design is hand-drawn by me, Jordan Miles Roman. Nothing is copied, AI-generated, or mass-produced. These shirts are original pieces of art that you won’t find anywhere else.

One of my first designs, Neon Dreams: Zira, represents ambition and the blur between reality and dreams under the city lights. She’s not just a character — she’s part of the story I want CityEvoke (City Evoke) to tell.
